GENERAL INFORMATION
Set on a clifftop overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this extensive complex is the ideal place for a luxurious break on Tenerife – the island of eternal springtime.
The Ritz Carlton Abama is made up of African and Moorish-inspired buildings housing guestrooms, villas and extensive facilities. These buildings are surrounded by a huge estate of tropical gardens and a golf course. Choose to spend your day by one of the 8 outdoor swimming pools or by relaxing in the spa and wellness centre. More energetic activities include tennis at the on-site academy or golf on the hotel course.
Located in the shade of the volcanic Mount Teide, this property enjoys amazing views over the ocean and the neighbouring island of La Gomera. Soak up the sun on the private beach, linked to the clifftop hotel by a funicular railway.
HOTEL INFORMATION
The whole property is surrounded by the hotel’s own 18-hole golf course. This course, designed by Dave Thomas, is known as one of the best on the island. You can also choose to enjoy a game of tennis or improve your game at the Sánchez-Casal Tennis Academy.
The on-site African-themed spa allows you to enjoy a session in the jacuzzi or swim in the indoor pool. You can also unwind in the thermal spa circuit or with a workout in the fitness centre.
If you travel with children you can leave them with the supervised Kid’s Club to enjoy some peaceful time alone.
Other on-site conveniences include a boutique and shopping centre, adding to your comfort.
AREA INFORMATION
The hotel is set on Tenerife’s west coast, to the north of the resort of Playa de las Américas. The interesting volcanic landscape is centred around Mount Teide, an extinct volcano and the highest point anywhere in Spain. Daily coach tours take you through the dense forests up to the cable car, which rises up above cloud level.
FOOD&BEVERAGE
The property features a selection of 10 venues to eat and drink. MB serves dishes created by the 3 Michelin-starred chef, Martín Berasategui. Kabuki offers innovative Japanese cuisine, and seafood and fish specialties are served at the Mirador. Pampa Verona is where you can try Argentinean and Italian cuisine, and Los Chozos, Abama Beach and the Golf Clubhouse all offer sophisticated and light meals.
