Hostal Oporto - Madrid

The Oporto Hostal is a sober and elegant building from the end of the 19th century. It is located right in the Historic-Cultural Center of Madrid, in the heart, only 200m from the Puerta del Sol. Next to Parliament, this area is very calm and is watched 24 hours.

The pretty and much lauded "Paseo del Prado" and "Puerta del Sol" is 150 m away. Walking towards the Atocha railroad station you will find the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and, across the street, the Prado Museum, both united by a beautiful sculpture group and the Neptune Fountain. Then follows the Botanical Gardens, close to the Atocha Station where high speed trains (AVE - Alta Velocidad Española) depart, and finally we reach the Queen Sofia Art Museum. Just around the corner from our hostal is the "La Zarzuela" theater and a few meters further, Alcala Street , where the Circle of Beautiful Arts, with its pretty Exhibition and Conference halls, is located.

TAXI A taxi from Barajas Internacional Airport usually takes about 20 minutes to arrive and can cost between 25-30 € depending on the traffic. SUBWAY Madrid has an excellent subway (metro) system that you can take right from the airport. If you do not have a lot of luggage it is easy and inexpensive use and will take you less that 45 minutes to arrive at the Hostal. Follow the signs to the metro in the airport, purchase a one use ticket: 1 € or a 10 use ticket: 6.15 € , from the machines or the ticket window. Take line #8 to the station Mar de Cristal and transfer to line #4 in the direction of Argüelles, transfer to line #2 in Goya and get off at the "Sevilla" stop and the hostal is located just 50m from any of the 2 exits. FROM THE TRAIN STATIONS: All of the train stations have subway (metro) stations connected. You just need to travel to the "Puerta del Sol" Stop on line #1. A single use ticket is 1 €. BY CAR: If you are arriving by car, the hostal has 2 parking spaces nearby. One is in the Calle Alcalá on the side of the subway stop (Sevilla) and the other is in the Carrera de San Jerónimo, Both are located just 50m from the Hostal.
